  • As of February 1, 2017 Dental Trauma Guide is now a paid resource. However, there is a free PDF version of their 2012 guidelines available here from the International Association of Dental Traumatology. Dental Trauma Guide – Treatment guidelines for trauma to primary and permanent dentition. The Trauma Pathfinder is particularly useful (requires Adobe Flash)
  • Maxillofacial section of AO Surgery Reference – surgical topics covering four anatomical areas: skull base & cranial vault, midface, dentoalveolar trauma, and mandible.
  • AAOMS Guide to SuturingOnline version and downloadable PDF (4.5 MB) are available.
  • LacerationRepair.com videos on various suture techniques. These are shown on skin, but the techniques would be basically the same intra-orally.
  • Bloody Tooth Guy on Instagram @bloodytoothguy and Snapchat @bloodytooth.guy – Oral surgeon in the USA who posts videos of various procedures, including wisdom teeth extractions and impacted canine exposure. He’s not kidding when he says BLOODY so this account is not for the faint of heart.

Radiology

  • Dr. G’s Toothpix: Dr. Gonzalez, a radiologist, shares and explains interesting radiographs
  • Oral Radiology Differential Diagnosis from UCLA. Plug in the clinical and radiographic features of the lesion into this program and it will spit out a Ddx list. Now if only there was a similar program for soft tissue lesions!
  • Set Up my FMS – a free iPad app by the University of Toronto to help students learn how to mount radiographs properly.

Paediatric Dentistry

  • Dental Ethical Dilemmas from Texas Dental Journal. Each scenario asks “What Would You Do?” and provides insightful discussion.
